Leading LGBT Entrepreneurship Organization to Kickoff the Trading Day on June 7 in Celebration of June Pride Month
New York, NY (May 26, 2010) – StartOut, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering and developing entrepreneurship in the LGBT community, will ring The Opening BellSM to begin trading at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Monday, June 7. The bell-ringing will celebrate StartOut’s efforts to educate, inspire and support LGBT business leaders, timed to coincide with June’s Gay Pride Month festivities.
“As Gay Pride Month begins, StartOut is the ideal organization to represent entrepreneurs from the LGBT community,” said Bryan Janeczko, co-founder of StartOut. “We’re leveraging diversity to drive innovation, secure top talent and create amazing business opportunities, and are pleased to celebrate our efforts with the bell ringing ceremony.”
Since its inception, StartOut has worked to provide opportunities for LGBT entrepreneurs during all phases of their careers, hosting “Business Builder” networking programs, speaker events and entrepreneurship programs in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. StartOut also offers a mentorship program and “StartOut Salon” events for individuals beginning their entrepreneurship journey.
