GLEH Los Angeles Corporation expands LGBT friendly affordable housing


The nation's first LGBT friendly affordable senior housing provider announced its latest 40 unit development, Argyle Apartments. Located at Hollywood and Western just one metro stop from GLEH's Triangle Square, the new development will provide affordable housing to Hollywood's rapidly developing neighborhood.


The $17.5 million project is a partnership of GLEH Los Angeles Corporation and AMCAL Multi-Housing, Inc.The project will be funded through California Redevelopment Agency (CRA), JP Morgan Chase and low-income housing tax credits. "Seeing Triangle Square become a reality in 2007 was a dream come true for those of us who stand up for tolerance, understanding and equality," said Council Member Eric Garcetti. "I applaud the partnership between the Gay & Lesbian Elder Housing Los Angeles Corporation and AMCAL for expanding LGBT friendly affordable housing in Los Angeles and revitalizing the community." Replacing an underutilized site, Argyle will feature a community room with kitchenette and lounge, landscaped common area with barbeque grills, children's play structure and an outdoor seating. Argyle Apartments is scheduled to open in Spring 2014.
